The Art of Food Reception
The Art of Food reception was held Friday, February 28th. The reception was very well attended by participating artists and the public. A new addition to Art Speaks Gallery shows is artwork created by the Bay School outreach programs. Artwork from the outreach programs included pizzas and mixed media ice cream Sundays. The artwork is displayed in the windows and along with the Art of Food exhibit.
The Art of Food is on display through March 24th. The artwork depicts a variety of foods, drinks, food settings and more. There is variety of media on display in this show including; paintings, pottery, multimedia.
A very special award was given to potter Sue Henshaw for her food pottery at the reception. Outreach kids voted on all artwork in the Art of Food show for the “Kid’s Choice Award”. Sue Henshaw was the first recipient of the special award.
March Artist of the Month artist Bob Carlson attended the reception. He has a total of 7 pieces in his artist of the month display and 5 pieces in the Art of Food exhibit. The Artist of the month Exhibit will hang until March 23rd.
