This year, the Bay School is helping coordinate the Market Days Poster Contest.

The Mathews Market Days festival is held each year on the Friday and Saturday    following Labor Day.  A centerpiece of the festival is the official Market Days Poster, a limited edition, signed and numbered, collectible art print.

2018 Theme:    

Anchored in History…..Setting Sail for the Future. 

Mathews has a rich, multi-faceted history. Its legacy influences how we live today and will continue to shape our future.

Prize: $650.00 and ten (10) A/P posters

 Entry Specifications: 

The poster contest is open to all ages and levels of expertise; you need not live in Mathews County to enter;  there is no limit to the number of entries submitted by an individual. A $15.00 entry fee must accompany each entry application. Please make checks/money orders payable to:

                    MATHEWS MARKET DAYS

 All mediums (watercolor, oil, acrylic, photography, etc.), collages or mixed media are accepted.  Finished artwork must be 18” x 24” vertical or horizontal.  All entries must be framed, ready to hang, with an entry form securely attached to the back. 

Applicants should remember that the winning entry should have a vision of their entries in “poster” form, however do not present your artwork in “poster” form; the Market Days Committee will select the typeface and wording to transform your work into a poster. 

 Application Deadline: 

Application and $15.00 entry fee is due no later than 5:00 PM on June 15, 2018.  One application and fee per entry. You can deliver the application to the Bay School.
