The Art Speaks Juried Exhibition was conceived in 2013 to showcase the best contemporary art in Virginia. For seven years, we did so with a flourish and a grand celebration. 2020 was off to a great start, with an outstanding body of work selected by our juror, Nicole Santiago. We planned not only the usual juried exhibition, but an Encore Exhibition, featuring other works by the 2020 award winners. The pandemic forced us to pause, take a step back, and shift our focus. Circumstances made it unfeasible to host the exhibition in the Art Speaks Gallery, and those circumstances have carried over into 2021. Instead of a new show, we decided to keep the focus on the 2020 exhibition by hosting the Encore Exhibition in the gallery this year. The entire 2020 show is still viewable on our website, and we encourage you to view it again. We are excited to welcome the award winners to our gallery this May, and showcase their outstanding artistic talent.
