Emerging Artist Show 2016

  

 

Our Annual Emerging Artist Show will be held from October 1st though the 29th. This show celebrates the creativity and artistry of the many students that take classes here at The Bay School Community Arts Center.

We are currently seeking submissions for the show! If you are 16 years or older and have taken a class at The Bay School within the last 18 months, we would love to have you submit your finished works to be displayed in our Art Speaks Gallery.

Deadlines:
Receipt of entry form: Saturday, September 24, 2016 by 4:00pm Delivery of Art: September 21-28, Monday 9-1, Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm to 279 Main Street, Mathews Pick-Up Art: Monday, October 31st (no later than Saturday, November 5th)


 Eligibility:
-Artist must have taken a Bay School class or Open Studio between March 2015 and September 2016.
-Artist must be at least 16 years or older

 Entries:

-Artist's name, title of piece, media, price or NFS (Not for Sale), must be written on a card and affixed to the back or bottom of the entry.
-All media forms are welcome.
-Artists may submit entry forms for two pieces per class category. For example, you may submit two pieces of pottery as well as two drawings, if you have taken both classes.
-Including a digital photo of the entry is highly encouraged to assist the Bay School and Art Speaks staff to plan the exhibition display and publish the exhibition on our website.
-Two dimensional art must be ready to hang with a wire hanging system. Please no saw tooth hangers.
-Entries larger than 24" x 24" will be considered on an individual basis.
-Entries should weigh no more than 30lbs.
-The Bay School and Art Speaks Gallery reserve the right to exclude artwork that may be inappropriate for all audiences.

 

Notification:
The Bay School and Art Speaks Gallery will notify artists which entries will be included in the show based on the number of entries received. Space considerations as well as distribution of media types will be determining factors.

 

Sales: 
Entries may be for sale or for display only. All work submitted must be priced for sale including commission (35% to the Art Speaks Gallery) or marked "NFS".

 

Reception: 
All artists and teachers are encouraged to attend the opening reception on October 1st from 4-6pm.
