Functional Works
Opening Reception: Friday June 29th from 5-7pm
Show Dates: June 29th through August 4th, 2018
Do you love to live with hand-made items? There is something so personal about drinking coffee from a hand-made mug, slipping on a hand-woven shawl, and putting your feet up on a coffee table crafted from locally-gathered wood. If you wish to seek a connection with your intimate surroundings, visit the Art Speaks Gallery’s Functional Works Show and find some hand-made treasures to bring into your life. Opening Friday, June 29 and running through the end of July, the show will feature locally made pottery, furnishings, metal work – including wine chillers made from scuba tanks, wood work, and clothing, both fully handcrafted and reworked and hand-dyed. The show opens with a casual reception on Friday evening from 5-7pm, in the Bay School’s Art Speaks Gallery. Light refreshments will be served and patrons will have their first chance to purchase these one-of-a-kind works of functional art.
