The Art of Food

The Art of Food is the next show featured at the Bay School Community Arts Center and Art Speaks Gallery. The Art of Food will run from February 28th through March 24th.  Artwork will depict a variety of foods, drinks and related themes. There is a wide variety of media on display in this show from both local and regional artists.

A new addition in Art Speaks Gallery shows is a youth division. The artwork is created by youth from Bay School outreach and after school programs. Youth artwork will be displayed along with the other entries in the Art of Food show. Youth in the outreach programs will also vote on a “Kids’ Choice” award prior to the reception.

The Art of Food opening day reception is February 28th from 5-7:00. The “Kids’ Choice” award will be awarded to the winning artwork during the reception. Many of the participating artists will be attending and available to discuss their work. There will be refreshments served and a FOOD related project for our young visitors.

The featured Artist of the Month in March is Bob Carlson of Toano. His oil paintings will be on exhibit through the month of March. The March Artisan Foodie Market will be on the 21st. There will be gallery activities and vendors at the Artisan market. Stay tuned for more details about this market!
