Foodie Artisan Market | March 21

During the Art of Food show in Bay School’s Art Speaks Gallery there will be a Foodie Artisan Market. The market will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 10-2:30. Not only is there some yummy artwork as part of this show but he Foodie Artisan Market will have some yummy offerings. Vendors such as Mairi’s Scottish Shortbread,  Bloody’s by Buzz bloody mary mix, and specialty pottery kitchen items by Clay by the Bay and potter Sue Henshaw will be available. Kevin Cheely will be making his Bunswick Stew. The stew can be purchased by the bowl, quart or even a sample!

Young visitors can enjoy playing the Art of Food Eye Spy Gallery game and creating a food inspired craft. Adults can try making creative food garnishes.Visitors will have refreshments to enjoy while they check out the Art of Food show and shop with the gallery vendors.

 The Art of Food show is up  through March 24th.  Artwork depicts a variety of foods, drinks and related themes. There is a wide variety of media on display in this show from both local and regional artists.  Bay School outreach and after school programs have food related artwork that is displayed along with the other entries in the Art of Food show and in the windows. The featured Artist of the Month in March is Bob Carlson of Toano. His oil paintings will be on exhibit through the month of March.

Mathews Market Days Artisan Market Saturday Event 

In lieu of the Market Days festival the Bay School along with other main street businesses have invited vendors to set up outside on Saturday September 12th from 9-4:00. Stay tuned to Facebook and Gallery emails for vendors that you will find set up outside of the Bay School. As of now we have; potter Doris Hackworth with her famous soup bowls and complimenting bowl holders, Clay by the Bay, Glass Art by Rita Cutler, wood artist Peyton Roberts with Bay Bear Creations and jewelers Linda and Jim Harrison. Virginia Coyle will set up a few doors away with her artwork.
