Feb 28-Mar 24: Idioms in Art

Idioms are a colorful and creative way of self-expression when talking AND when creating art! Come and explore the many ways artists have interpreted their favorite colloquial sayings in a variety of media to create this diverse show!

The 21 artists entered in Idioms in Art have taken their favorite popular expressions and illustrated them using all types of media. "Get your ducks in a row" and “time flies" are just a few idioms artists chose to illustrate. Artwork includes painting, fiber, jewelry, photography and pottery.

The opening reception on February 28 was great fun with many artists attending to greet the public.  During the evening, gallery guests participated in a game of matching the intended meaning of an idiom to the art representing it and enjoyed compiling a running list of idioms not represented by the artwork.
